The goal of our laboratory is to use genetics to advance drug therapy by improving efficacy and reducing adverse effects. Our laboratory is focused on becoming among the most renowned and successful in the area of pharmacogenomics and on training the next generation of scientists and clinicians. We will create an environment that is conducive to communication, learning, and collaboration while maintaining scientific excellence and integrity.

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position Available
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jason Karnes in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Karnes’ laboratory conducts research in precision medicine, focused on cardio- and immuno-pharmacogenomics. We employ clinical and translational research approaches to determine genetic variation associated with efficacy and safety of widely prescribed medications. Work will include assessment of genomic signals in drug response through genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Researchers with both PhD and MD/PharmD training are particularly well-suited for this position.
